What the free hosting plan includes
Every free account gets a real hosting account with its own control panel, not a site builder sandbox. You can run static HTML sites, PHP applications and databases. In the control panel you:
- Install web apps such as WordPress, ClassicPress or phpMyAdmin with a few clicks.
- Manage files in the browser: upload, edit and extract ZIP archives.
- Create databases on MariaDB 10.11, compatible with MySQL.
- Get HTTPS automatically: certificates are issued and renewed for you.
- Make backups of your site and databases and restore them when needed.
- Schedule cron jobs and read access and error logs.
Sites built with LXI Maker, the AI website builder, publish straight to your address.
Who the free plan is for
The free plan suits portfolios, club and community pages, side projects, landing pages, learning PHP or WordPress, and prototypes you want to share with a real URL. Because there are no ads and no forced branding, visitors only see your content.
Free subdomain or your own domain
Your free address looks like yourname.lxi.be and is ready right after you confirm your email. If you want a name like yourname.com, register it at LXI: you only pay for the domain, the hosting for it stays free and you also get mailboxes and webmail for it. Read more on the free domain page.
When you need more
If 5 GB is not enough, switch to Pro with 50 GB for €9.99 per month, or to Ultra with unlimited web space. Paid plans also raise the number of free lxi.be addresses to 25 and add more AI credits. Plans renew monthly and can be cancelled at the end of each paid month.
Good to know
LXI is a German provider. The sign-up form, the customer centre and the control panel are currently in German; your browser can translate them. Prices are in euros and include 19 % German VAT. Uploads currently work through the browser file manager; FTP and SFTP access is not available yet. Domains registered with other providers cannot be connected yet.
